The model project Fem.OS Plus – Information und Beratung in den sozialen Medien zur Arbeitsmarktintegration für zugewanderte Frauen aus Drittstaaten in Deutschland is based on the model project Fem.OS – Aufsuchendes Orientierungs- und Beratungs-System in den sozialen Medien für Migrantinnen (Outreach Orientation and Counseling System in Social Media for Immigrant Women), which was funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Migration, Refugees and Integration as well as the Federal Government Commissioner for Anti-Racism from May 2020 to June 2023. In cooperation with the German Federal Employment Agency, this project explored Minor’s unique approach to outreach counseling and information on social media – „Digital Streetwork“ – for women from third countries.
The results of the highly positive evaluation of Fem.OS are now being used to further develop successful methods and tools in Fem.OS Plus for supporting the labour market integration of women from third countries and to test new methods in social media spaces that are already being transformed by artificial intelligence (AI). The digital methodology using the rapidly developing AI, the legally reviewed counseling and information content, the social media spaces used and the institutional network with migrant organizations are to be established and expanded in such a way that the successful approaches can be transferred into permanent structures of counseling for migrants after the end of the project.
Fem.OS Plus aims to provide women from third countries with reliable, easy accessible information on labour and social rights, to strengthen their skills and to promote their integration into the labour market in line with their qualifications. Basic and referral counseling are supported by information work, such as information campaigns. These are oriented towards the topics which have emerged as particular priorities in the counseling work. Through professional networking, public relations work and professional publications, Fem.OS Plus transfers instruments and methodology in the field of counseling and information for new immigrants. Furthermore, technical developments, especially from the field of AI, are to be made usable for the counseling work as well as for the analysis and evaluation of the data obtained in the project.
In addition to German, Fem.OS Plus provides advice and information in seven languages: Arabic, Ukrainian, Russian, English, Persian, Turkish and French, which are the most common languages spoken by new immigrants from third countries. Legal guidance provided by the female lawyers in the team ensures reliability and quality.
The main subjects of the counseling work are orientation on the job market, job search, professional qualification and questions about labour and social law. The goal of Fem.OS Plus is to make an innovative contribution to improving the labour market integration of immigrant women by providing proactive basic and referral counseling as well as easy accessible information.
